Garden Journal - Fall #2
The marigolds were a hardy constant throughout the growing season. The smell reminds me of Nanna's garden on a hot Australian summer day. I had never thought of the scent as pleasant, but now it brings nostalgic memories and I like it. Maddie and I harvested them just in time for the frost. We will make dye from them.
These violets from the seeds Sarah gave me were so luminous. The two tones of purple combined with the yellow centers and dark purple star bursts made them seem to be iridescent.
