Floral Pairings - Fall #4
Right before the snow last week I was still harvesting! I am so happy that my observations have led to a longer growing season. Each year in October I have spent time in the community garden observing what is still flowering, or has leaves, despite some hard frosts. The combinations of these hardy plants makes for some incredible arrangements. The more I try to adapt my garden for the climate here, the more interesting and less like supermarket flowers my bunches get!
Next year I am going to plant some various mints. While mint is considered to go rampant and take over in most climates, I've discovered that here that just makes it a good grower. It only has a few months to grow in, so that makes for a great choice here in this harsh climate.
